Vass Imre-cave trip

Trip details: The cave-about 1 km long together with its side-branches-is located in the vicinity of Jósvafő village, in the Kis-Tohonya Spring Valley. The entrance is via a man made tunnel leads to some large passageways, the first part being illuminated and with concrete pavement. In the middle of the cave a temporary sump can be found, and under wet conditions is closed for weeks. Beyond this point the cave becomes 4-5 levelled. The first three levels are united in a large hall, the Dome. The end-point of the cave is the Hall of Cyclops with large boulders blocking further access.

Trip grade: Easy trip for cavers.
