Rákóczi 1.-cave, Martonyi abbey ruins

Tour/trip details: The cave is situated near the village of Bódvarákó, on the Esztramos hill. Formations like "popcorn", the spectrum of colors and the crystal clear water of its lakes enchant visitors at every step. The cave is accesible through an artifical tunnel and in the cave iron steps and ladders help the trip participants. The tour takes about an hour. After the trip the ruins of a Pauline Church and Monestry built in the 14th century can be visited near to the village of Martonyi in the forest.

Tour/trip grade: tourist cave with steep ladders.

Clothing and/or equipment: overall, electric light source, helmet, gumboots.
