Kossuth-cave trip
Trip details: Entrance nearby Jósvafő, via a man made horizontal tunnel. Active water course is running through the 800 m long cave. An easy cave for cavers with some easy ropework/traverse required above the lake. The endpoint of the cave is today the so-called Reménytelen (Hopeless) sump. The water in this cave is slightly warmer than the average 10 oC in the area due to a permanent discharge from the deep karst originating from a warm water upwell.
Trip grade: Easy trip for cavers
Clothing and/or equipment: overall, electric light source, helmet, gumboots.
